What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JON BEASON: Miami, 6002 237 4.78. Junior entry. Two-year starter. Strong, physical, and versatile. Sudden to read and react. A cover linebacker that is a good blitzer. Solid wrap up tackler. Good instincts to react to run or pass. Finds the ball quickly and maintains leverage on the ball. Always around the ball. Gets down hill quickly. Plays square and takes the openings when there. Quickly fills the inside run aggressively. Can take on and slip blockers. Speed to run down the outside run. Sheds quickly. Doesn’t stay blocked. Fluid in his pass drops. Can turn and run. Can play short or deep man-to-man coverage. Good open field tackler. Will contribute on special teams. Undersized. Will get walled off at times because of height.Team’s leading tackler and hardest hitter. Flexibility to play inside or outside depending on a team’s scheme. Can knock a ball carrier backwards. Demonstrates quick movement out of transition to break on the ball. Appears to be mentally and physically tough. A competitor that will initiate contact and perform at a high level. Can stack and defeat lead blocker despite size. Good balance to stay on his feet, protect his legs, and read on the run. Good use of hands and agility getting through traffic. Plays with good knee bend, functional strength, and knee bend. First/second round. (A-33 1/2, H-9 1/2, BP-19, SS-DNP).
