What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JARVIS JENKINS: Clemson, 6037 309 5.08. Three-year starter. Active in his play. Try hard, good effort player who will finish pursuit to the perimeter. Quick first step. Gets his hands up and into the throwing lane. Physical against the run when he gets his pad level down. Has a tendency to play high. Works his feet and hands to press the pocket and rush the quarterback. Plays in a front rotation where he is always fresh. Doesn’t stay blocked. Quick to disengage and separate from the blocker. Can stack and hold his ground against double teams. Needs to develop his pass rush moves. Basically uses the bull rush and tries to overpower the blocker. That rarely happens on the next level. A reactive player who has a nose for the ball. Has functional strength but needs more upper and lower body strength. Possibly a two gap 3-4 defensive end. Will struggle at nose tackle because he plays high. 2010 stats: 39 tackles, 8 TFL, 1 sack, 1 FF. Edge speed:left 1.95, right 2.05. OSR:20/25. Third/ fourth round. (A-33 1/4, H-9 5/8, BP-17, 10-1.81).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about RYAN KERRIGAN: Purdue, 6037 267 4.71. Three-year starter who is very technique conscious and productive. Plays right defensive end in a four-man front. Rarely gets single blocked. Can’t be blocked with a tight end. Plays low and with good leverage. Can walk an offensive tackle back to the quarterback at times. Instinctive. Quick to read and react to pressure then gets to the ball. Right place at the right time player. Can run the hoop as a pass rusher, bending his course to the depth of the quarterback. Generally doesn’t get run out of the play. Good use of arms, hands, and leverage at the point of attack. Sudden first step. Plays on his feet. Uses a variety of pass rush moves including rip, spin, and slap and grab. Disruptive even if he doesn’t get the sack. Gets his hands up on the rush or tries to slap the ball out of the quarterback or ball carrier’s hand. Doesn’t give up on a play. Works from snap to whistle. Gets through traffic with urgency and intensity. Strong game in win over Ohio State in 2009 where he demonstrated all his tools. Knocked off the rust Senior Bowl week and impressed with his jackrabbit get off quickness. Purdue did not play in a bowl game, so it was about 8 weeks between starts for the elite pass rusher. The highly motivated competitor had 5 tackles, 3 TFL, and a sack in the game. In 2009 he led the Big-10 and was third nationally with 13 sacks. He also had 18 1/2 TFL. He led the nation with 7 FF, second most in Big-10 history. In 2010 he racked up 70 tackles, 12 1/2 sacks, 26 TFL, 5 FF, and 1 PBU. A Jared Allen clone. Edge speed:left 1.94, right 2.05. OSR:5/26. First round. (A-33 1/2, H-9 5/8, BP-31, 10-1.63).

Draft Rewind 2012 - Robert Griffin III - Washington Redskins
By
proscoutdan

7:00 AM
What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about ROBERT GRIFFIN
III: Baylor, 6023 223 4.41.
Junior entry. Three-year starter who is a world class track athlete and a
polished passer. As in most spread offensive schemes, he throws several
horizontal routes, quick hitches, bubble screens, slants, and out cuts. He does,
however, throw vertical routes with good timing and accuracy. Drops the ball in
the well. Griffin doesn’t hang the ball or throw it up for grabs. Has book and
football intelligence. Throws a consistent spiral with a quick 3/ 4 arm release.
No hesitation on his delivery or release. Sudden to catch and release the ball
from a shotgun snap. Is the master of an up-tempo offense. Quick to read and
react to what he sees defensively. Also runs the read option to keep pressure
off the passing game. Explosive and disciplined in his play. Consistent and
confident to drive the ball down the field and outside the numbers. Completed
72.4% of his passes in 2011. Rare movement skills. Quick feet to sidestep and
avoid a rush. Has the ability to make plays on the move right or left, but
favors rolling to his right. He can escape with suddenness. Resets his body and
feet with balance to make a quick and accurate throw. Creates and extends plays.
Offensive coordinator may choose to tailor their offense to Griffin’s skill set.
A smooth and effortless athlete with good field awareness. He can hit a target
at full speed with anticipation, good timing, and ball placement. Will tunnel in
on first receiver at times and get away with it as spread out as defenses are in
college. Exploits the cavities in a defense. As a runner he has vision, feel,
and elusiveness. A natural runner who is dangerous and slippery in the open
field. Durability is a question mark with a torn right ACL in 2009 and a
concussion suffered in Texas Tech game in 2011, missing the 2nd half of the
game. Bottom line – he doesn’t panic, is determined to stay in the pocket, and
can take a hit. Outstanding production. 2011 stats: 291/402, 4293 passing yds,
72.4%, 37 TDs, 6 INTs. OSR:1/15. First round. (A-32 1/4, H-9 1/2, SS-DNP,
VJ-39).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about DEANGELO
HALL: Virginia Tech, 5100 202
4.33. Junior eligible. A slender framed yet solidly-built corner with
outstanding speed and athletic ability. Two year starter. Big play performer
throughout his career. Had a great ’03 season. Saw some action at wide receiver.
Plays with a lot of confidence. Very quick footed with a smooth backpedal. Can
turn and run easily with receivers. Comes out of his pedal sharply. Good leaper
— reacts well to the thrown ball. A little raw — will bite on double moves at
times but shows good recovery skills — can get caught peeking at the quarterback
and losing track of the receiver. Solid in run support. Comes up quickly and
sets himself with good form — will face up and wrap. Generally secure coming up
to tackle a receiver after a catch in front of him. Feisty — can be a little
overaggressive at times. Explosive punt returner — ran back two for touchdowns
in one game this past season. Needs some technique work but he has great tools
and is a tough competitor.

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about ADAM CARRIKER: Nebraska, 6060 296 4.90. Three-year starter. Size and versatility. Can play end in a 4-3 or a 3-4 scheme. Strong in his upper body. Strong hands. Good athletic ability. Old school defensive end size. Power rusher. More of a left defensive end in a 4-3 scheme. No hold up on the line of scrimmage, quick to disengage blocker and find ball. Uses strength and technique versus the drive block and double team. Strength to pull and jerk. Quick arm over move. Stays on his feet. Can stuff the off tackle run. Good playing awareness. Will finish long and short pursuit. Can press the pocket rushing the passer. Flashes an upfield burst. Lacks the speed off the edge as a speed rusher. Plays a little tall at times and raises his pad level. Holds his ground on runs at him. Can walk a tackle back to the quarterback on a bull rush. Instinctive after get-off to find the ball. Good lateral change of direction and quickness. Works to the whistle. Scheme conscious to keep outside leverage. Physical tackler that will wrap and punch ball carrier. Doesn’t stay blocked. Works to keep blocker’s hands off of him. Will be a left run stuffing end on the next level. First round. (A-33 1/2, H-9 1/2, BP-33, 10-1.66). (Carriker was originally drafted by St. Louis.)

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about SELVISH CAPERS: West Virginia, 6045 308 5.16. Two-and-a-half year starter. Former tight end. An above average athlete that doesn’t play to those numbers. Inconsistent anchor. May project to a right tackle or guard on the next level. Struggles with his footwork. Drops his hands and lacks foot quickness in pass protection. Needs more upper and lower body strength. Long arms and big hands. Plays in a spread offense. Lines up in a preset stance. Inconsistent angles to the second level. Plays on his feet. Question his balance and agility for a player with his athletic numbers. An underachiever that has the tools to play on Sunday. Developmental project. OSR:11/40. Fourth/fifth round. (A-34, H-10, BP-19, 10-1.78).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about TRENT WILLIAMS: Oklahoma, 6045 315 4.85. Four-year starting experience. Played right tackle in 2008, but was featured as a left tackle in 2009. He also played center against Stanford in the Sun Bowl. Plays in a spread offense at times in a two-point preset stance. Can extend his arms and lock out to punch and force separation. Can sit down and stop a charge. Plays with a good base. Mirrors his man with good head position, quickness, and balance in pass protection. Effective to seal on down blocks. Has the ability to redirect with natural body control. Can cut edge rusher quickly on flat passes. More of an angular body build lacking the thickness in the lower body. Athletic in space with the ability to adjust and sustain his target on the move. Stays balanced with good knee bend. Improved his ability to wall off high motor double move edge pass rushers. Long torso tackle that can lock on a pass rusher and redirect him. Good feet, change of direction, and knee bend. Controls linebackers on the second level. Worked to finish his blocks better in 2009. Instilled more intensity and violence in his game. Can play any of the five positions along the offensive line. He did the short shotgun snaps, but is tall for the position. One of the top three most athletic linemen in the 2010 draft. Has the tools but will he maintain his new found intensity on the next level? OSR:3/ 40. First round. (A-34 1/4, H-9 3/4, BP-23, 10-1.73).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about KORY LICHTENSTEIGER: Bowling Green, 6022 298 5.31. Four-year starter. Scrappy, intense fighter type. Not a people mover. Overachiever type that will not be a fit for every team. Generally a good anchor. Plays with a good base. Short arms. Struggled with Sedrick Ellis in Senior Bowl. Durable over his career. Has started at guard and center. Can pull and get through traffic to get up on a linebacker. Snaps the ball quickly in shotgun. Will need to work on exchanges with quarterback under center. Tough and physical. Works to finish and sustain blocks. Cuts off quickly but will struggle to redirect in pass protection. Flashes a punch that can stun a defender, but he must improve hand placement. Works in tandem with his guards. Not a one on one base pass blocker. A competitor that overcomes his deficiencies with great effort. OSR:31/42. Seventh round. (A-32, H-9 1/2, BP-DNP, 10-1.81).

Better run player than pass rusher. Has a tendency to get high and driven back. Rotates and is fresh in their scheme. Inconsistent first step quickness. Gives effort to push the pocket and pressure the quarterback. Takes good pursuit angles. Slips blocks and gets upfield. Question balance at times when he plays too tall. Gets stuck on blocker and has a hard time shedding block. Will turn and break on ball down the field. Plays nose in the nickel package. Comes out most of the time on third down. Not considered a pass rusher. Good anchor if he plays with knee bend. Holds his ground. Not a quick read and react player. Backpedals to drop into zone. Flattens out well against the outside run. Has a tendency to get ridden out of the play. Inconsistent to bend and squeeze to the quarterback in the pass rush. Seems content to run up the field quickly and gets ridden out. Excels when he has a clear path to the quarterback. Can chase on ball away. Struggles when he does not beat the blocker off the snap. Needs to improve his hand use to defeat the block. A natural knee bender that can play low but has a tendency to stand up. Most of his production came when he was unblocked or against a tight end. He made only one play in the Fiesta Bowl. Has all the tools to star on Sunday, but needs technique work. Productive senior year with 42 tackles, including 19 tackles for loss and 11 1/2 sacks. Paul, Niles Nebraska 6007 225 4.51
Two-and-a-half year starter who was very productive in the run oriented Husker offense in 2009. Caught 40 passes, averaging 19.9 yards per catch. The big play receiver had nine catches for 35 yards or longer. He was second in the Big-12 in kickoff returns averaging 27.9 yards and punt returns averaging 10.7 yards. A big receiver with explosive speed (ran down a defender from behind who intercepted a pass.) Plays with average quarterbacks and is accustomed to making off-target catches. Runs like a running back after he catches the ball. Makes the catch, secures the ball, and can break a tackle or make the defender miss. Good running instincts. Will lay out for the ball. Competes for the ball in tight quarters. Good blocking effort on the perimeter. Tough and willing to go over the middle and catch a square-in route in traffic. West Coast type receiver who can catch the inside breaking routes. Comes back to the ball. Runs routes off motion. Athletic in his movement. Can create separation with double moves. He helped himself out on his ability to cover kicks. Along with his physical play at receiver, special teams may be his ticket to a roster on the next level. For complete report see Ourlads Guide to the NFL Draft.
