Draft Rewind 2011 - Torrey Smith - Baltimore Ravens

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about TORREY SMITH: Maryland, 6007 204 4.43. Junior entry. Two-and-a-half year starter who is a vertical receiver with good body control. Creates separation with speed and athletic ability. Quick feet gives him a chance to come out of his break with a burst. Plays fast. Competitive at the ball in the air. Can make the tough circus type catch. Uses his talent as a kickoff return specialist to run after catch as a receiver. All-time ACC career kickoff return leader. Adjusts well to the low ball or high and away passes. Runs the full route tree with outs, deep, corner patterns, dig routes, comebacks, etc. Many times he outruns the coverage, but the quarterback can’t get him the ball or under throws him. Good effort to block in the run game. A mature and stable hard worker who is an ascending player. Will contribute on special teams. 2010 stats: 67-1055 yds, 15.7 ypr, 12 TDs. OSR:2/ 43. First/second round. (A-32 5/8, H-8 5/8, VJ-41.5, SS-4.13).

Draft Rewind 2004 - Michael Turner - Atlanta Falcons

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MICHAEL TURNER: Northern Illinois, 5104 237 4.48. A hard running tailback with good size and strength. Could project in a one-back set. Productive two year starter. Durable workhorse. A somewhat slow starter — not quick to the hole. More fast than quick. Keeps his shoulders squared and runs with good lean and power. Tough between the tackles. Keeps his feet active and gives good second effort. Holds the ball securely. Not a consistent tackle breaker — gets tripped up by low contact too easily. Has good vision for reading and following blocks. Has the burst to get outside and turn the corner but looks to bounce plays wide a little too much. Not a real sharp cutter — slows to change directions on the move. Lacks dynamic elusiveness — lowers his shoulder and drives into defenders in the open rather than evade. Not used a lot as a blocker but has ability in that area — can bend his knees and deliver a solid blow. Marginal receiver with adequate hands. Needs to improve as a route runner. Originally drafted by San Diego.

Good in coverage, especially man to man. Tough and competitive. Wrap tackler. Rangy in both the run game and pass coverage. Can be an enforcer over the middle. Good ball skills. Fluid hips. Can turn and run. Smooth in transition. Good athlete that takes good angles in coverage and support. A physical tackler. Doesn’t turn down a hit. Productive with 116 tackles and five pass breakups. Caused two fumbles. An ascending player that should have a good pro career. OSR:3/23. BTR:left 4.28, right 4.45. Second/third round. (A-32 3/4, H-9 3/8, SS-4.29, VJ-35.5).

Draft Rewind 2011 - Julio Jones - Atlanta Falcons

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JULIO JONES: Alabama, 6026 220 4.39. Junior entry. Three-year starter who is a big physical receiver with rare speed for his size. Ran faster than we projected. Can make the acrobatic adjustment to the ball on a back shoulder throw. A big target who will reach and extend for the ball on a slant pattern. Has no fear of going across the middle. A clutch, big play receiver who has the mentality of a press corner. Physical and tough. Will sacrifice his body for the ball. Has the stamina to run all day long. Productive against top level competition. Battled Patrick Peterson for three straight years and it could be argued that Jones took two of the three match-ups. A strong hand catcher who will break a tackle and finish a play. Falls forward. Instinctive running ability. Not easy to tackle. Will outmuscle defenders for a ball in the crowd. A three level receiver. Strong enough to get off press coverage. A bigger and faster Anquan Boldin or Sterling Sharpe. Route running was top level late in 2010. Good blocker. Has had some injuries in the past. One hole in his game is his concentration - has drops at times. Career stats: 179-2653, 14.8 ypr, 15 TDs. OSR:1/43. First round, top 10 talent. (A-33 3/4, H-9 3/4, VJ-38.5, SS-4.25).

Draft Rewind 2010 - Sean Weatherspoon - Atlanta Falcons

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about SEAN WEATHERSPOON: Missouri, 6012 239 4.67. Three-year starter that got some playing time as a freshman. An outstanding athlete that can run and play sideline to sideline. Productive with 392 tackles, 42 1/2 tackles for loss, and 12 1/ 2 sacks. Also has had 17 pass breakups and 4 interceptions, returning two for touchdowns. Mentally and physically tough. He is instinctive, smart, and competitive. Explosive run through target type hitter. Wrap tackler in the open field. A three-down linebacker that is versatile enough to play inside or outside in any scheme. Plays square to the line of scrimmage. Can play coverage or blitz from a variety of positions. Has a burst to the ball carrier. Intense and focused. Plays with good knee bend and shoots his hands to get under and leverage the offensive lineman. Rarely gets caught up in traffic. Very active in pursuit. Has some power but is not the best taking on a block. Lacks great shed ability as he will get locked on a block at times. When he “sees it” he shows good downhill ability and generally takes good angles. A little stiff in transition and while he has good change of direction, he will get hung up occasionally. Has ability in coverage, takes good drops, and for the most part reacts well to the throw. Out of position at times, but will recover with good pursuit. Shows good pass rush ability. Quick first step and can adjust working upfield. Has a burst in the pass rush and can be a quality blitzer. Can run and chase, but has some stiffness and inconsistency in his play. Enthusiastic and talks a lot. OSR:3/ 19. First/second round. (A-31 1/4, H-10 1/4, BP-34, SS-4.39).

Draft Rewind 2005 - Jonathan Babineaux - Atlanta Falcons

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JONATHAN BABINEAUX: Iowa, 6021 286 4.90. An explosive defensive tackle that could play outside. Switched from fullback early in collegiate career. Broke his ankle and missed last half of 2003 season. Very quick with good body control and agility. Plays with natural strength and leverage against the run. Tough to move out. Shows quickness in gaps, can disrupt and use speed for pursuit. An effective pass rusher with quickness off the snap and explosiveness to flush and get to the quarterback. Used on a lot of stunts and twists. Will push guards back into the pocket. Lack of height and bulk could be a liability in NFL. Will need to compensate with quickness and agility.

Draft Rewind 2010 - Corey Peters - Atlanta Falcons

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about COREY PETERS: Kentucky, 6032 300 5.06. Three-year starter. Productive and athletic. Long arms. High effort player that finishes pursuit. Good football intelligence. Has first step quickness if he keeps his pad level down. Must work to play with good knee bend. Is easily cut when he gets too high. Clogs up the “A” gap with penetration and strength. Gets push up inside as a pass rusher and gets his hands up. Causes hurries. Tough in a short area. Locks out, separates, and makes a play. Effective movement on twist stunts. Fights to hold his ground. Can anchor his area. Is aware of blocking schemes and combinations. On tape he looks to have fringe speed to the perimeter, but gives effort to get there. Backup rotation type contributor. Had 153 career tackles, 28 for loss, 11 1/2 sacks, and 11 passes broken up. Edge speed:left 2.19, right 2.43. OSR:11/20. Fourth/fifth round. (A-34, H-9, BP-26, 10-1.78).

Draft Rewind 2005 - Roddy White - Atlanta Falcons

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about RODDY WHITE: Alabama-Birmingham, 6012 207 4.40. Three-year starter who won two wrestling letters in high school. Physical receiver and confident. Can get upfield quickly after catch despite being a long strider. Strong run after catch. Can break tackles. Makes the deep over-the-head and shoulder catch. Stretches a defense deep. Will layout for the ball. Will catch the ball over the middle. Gets behind the secondary on a regular basis. Good sized target who reaches up, extends, and snatches the ball. Needs to improve working back to his quarterback on scramble and other position skills. Has all the tools but is green in several of the little things. Perfunctory, wall off position blocker. Results and finish could be better. Reacts well in a crowd. Has courage and concentration to catch and hold ball on contact over middle. Will battle the defensive backs. Won’t turn down the ball. Produces inside. Catches the ball on the move. Will compete. Has the strength to fight the jam. Could improve getting back into the route and back on course quicker. Good body control and movement. Talks a lot of trash on the field and usually backs it up. Long limbed, talented receiver who can catch the ball. Pulled a hamstring in the Senior Bowl. Late first to early second round ability.

Draft Rewind 2007 - Justin Blalock - Atlanta Falcons

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JUSTIN BLALOCK: Texas, 6032 320 5.18 Four-year starter that has played both guard and tackle. Moved to guard permanently in 2006. Long torso with thick lower body. Hustles downfield to get ahead of the play. Flashes first step quickness and explosiveness in the running game. Wide body to position and wall off defender in pass game. Can be a road grader at times to drive off down linemen. Flashes explosive punch to stun defender. Better than average athlete that will compete. Understands the game and has good playing awareness to pick up stunts and games. Above average lateral foot quickness to mirror and sustain in pass protection. Can quick set and has the strength to control a bull rush. Can anchor and hold his ground versus power. Will drop his head on pass protection at times and lose his target. Body control is awkward. Tendency to maul because of strength. Plays with a strong base. Reminds our scouts of Will Shields when he came out of Nebraska. Patient in pass pro and plays with good balance. Flashes an explosive punch to stun defender. Thick butt and legs. Strong lower body to stop a charge. Has all the tools to be a ten year guard. Possesses long arms and big hands to control defender. Second round. (A-34, H-10 1/2, BP-40, 10-1.77).

Draft Rewind 2008 - Curtis Lofton - Atlanta Falcons

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about CURTIS LOFTON: Oklahoma, 6000 246 4.84. Junior entry. One-and-a-half year starter. Does not have a long body of work. He finished last out of the inside linebackers that worked out at the Combine. Doesn’t appear to be an elite prospect athletically, but was productive with 157 tackles. Lacks a burst to close on the ball carrier. Played in a 4-2 scheme at Oklahoma. Inconsistent angles to ball carrier but will finish pursuit. Will get stuck on blocks and is inconsistent to disengage a blocker quickly. Looks the part physically with a thick lower body. Lacks top end speed and is inconsistent to time his blitzes. Tough and productive. OSR:11/11 and 47/52 of all linebackers. Third/fourth round. (A-31 5/ 8, H-9 1/2, BP-23, SS-4.57).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MATT RYAN: Boston College, 6046 228 4.94. Two-and-a-half year starter with a record of 24-7 from Exton, PA. Right handed passer. Has the size and arm strength for the position. Plays both in the shotgun and under center. Uses every receiver in offense - backs, tight end, and wide receivers. Usually five receivers are out on patterns. Awareness to throw check down passes to backs. Arm is strong enough to back pedal and still get good velocity on the ball when pocket breaks down. Keeps his eyes down the field. Good vision to locate secondary options. Can thread the ball into a tight and congested window for a completion. Demonstrates the ability to make plays out of the pocket. A better than average athlete that plays in a pro style ball control offense. Good leadership on and off the field. Polished in the pocket. Has a long but quick release. Somewhat of a wind-up. Must be careful not to force the ball into coverage. Threw 19 interceptions in 2007. Can side step a rush. Good enough mobility to make a good play out of bad one. When he decides to run, he runs hard and smart. Good intangibles. Competitive player that is tough and instinctive. Generally steps into his throws if no defender is in his lap. Does a good job of throwing the ball into the middle of the field. Good mechanics. Accurate both short and medium. Placement and timing is good. Was the Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year with limited surrounding talent. Has performed in critical situations. Did not play in any All-Star games or work out at the Combine. OSR:11/17. First round. (A-32 5/8, H-9 1/2, SS-4.53, VJ-29).

Draft Rewind 2009 - William Moore - Atlanta Falcons

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about WILLIAM MOORE: Missouri, 6001 221 4.58. Started 32 games over the past four years. Had surgery in the spring to repair a torn labrum. Physical specimen for the position. Big, fast, and athletic. Can play the run in the box or play coverage deep. Good anticipation and ball reactions. Has the speed to overlap deep and slap the ball away. Good range to cover the outside thirds of the field. Plays with confidence and attitude. Ideal safety size in a young man that can cover and hit. Has the ability to cover the third receiver. Sure tackler that is heady with the ability to make plays. A tale of two seasons. A strong junior year and an inconsistent and injury-plagued senior year. Loose hipped for a smooth turn with acceleration and catch up speed. During the Senior Bowl week he struggled with his transition out of the pedal to all route angles. The new scheme he learned at the practices may have affected his confidence. Played closer to the line in 2008. Has the tools to play on Sunday. The more complex the scheme, the longer it may take to get him ready to play. Will contribute on special teams. BTR:left 4.58, right 4.50. OSR:5/24. Second/third round. (A-32 1/4, H-9 1/8, VJ-37, SS-4.27).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about SAM BAKER: Southern Cal, 6045 309 5.30. Four-year starter. His father, David, is the commissioner of the Arena Football League. Aggressive and competitive. Played left tackle for the Trojans but may project to the right side in the NFL. An average athlete that is always a little behind his opponents movement. To regain body control and balance it takes him a split second. Question his upper and lower body strength. Will battle but is not a natural. Mentally tough. Consistent to make mental adjustments on the move. Flashes an explosive punch at times. Better blocking down than in space. Struggles against edge speed to get depth then redirect rusher. Gets high and loses knee bend in pass pro. Durable over his career. A journeyman type that is a potential starting left tackle. Can play four of five positions. Demonstrated good flexibility in the Senior Bowl. Can anchor and slide his feet. Timing on his punch in pass protection needs to be improved. Arm length is shorter than ideal for a left tackle. Did not workout at the Combine. Second/third round. (A-32 3/4, H-9 1/4, BP-28, 10-1.83).

Contains well and is hard to tie up on a reach block. Plays every play with a maximum effort. Hustles on plays away. Will dive and make arm and hand tackles.
