By

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JIMMY GRAHAM: Miami, 6063 259 4.55. Started one game in the only year he played. Four-year basketball letterman, one year of college football. Still learning the game. High cut. Will need to work to bend his knees to play low. Struggles as a blocker. Good eye-hand coordination. Not a natural hand catcher. Cradles and traps the ball. Good straight line speed and leaping ability. Waits on ball instead of going up after it at the high point. Needs work in every phase of his game - patterns, coverage recognition, release, separation, catching the ball short and long, inline blocker, and downfield blocker. One speed player that is a developing size/speed prospect. Big target with long arms. Career and 2009 stats are 17 catches, 213 yards, 12.5 yards per catch, and 5 touchdowns. OSR: 1/13. Fourth/fifth round. (A-35, H-10 5/8, BP-DNP, VJ-38.5).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about CAMERON JORDAN: California, 6041 287 4.76. Three-year starter. A flexible athlete who can bend and turn the corner. Played end in 3-4 scheme at Cal. Long arms and huge hands to control the blocker. Explosive edge speed and power. Quick hands to stab, punch, and extend his arms to gain separation. Consistent in the run game and rushing the passer. Can push the pocket when moved inside at tackle. Plays with good leverage and quickness. Disruptive and instinctive player who breaks quickly on a thrown ball. Possesses a thick and strong lower body to anchor in the run game. Uses a series of moves, including a rip or arm over to split a seam. Productive and aware. Impressive week of practice at the Senior Bowl where he impressed with his intensity and run stuffing ability. Bright-eyed, smart, and a high effort fast twitch player. NFL DNA - father Steve Jordan was a long-time Viking tight end. 2010 stats: 62 tackles, 5 1/2 sacks, 12 1/2 TFL, 3 FF, and 4 PBU. Edge speed:left 2.12, right 2.24. OSR:4/26. First round. (A-34 1/2, H-11 1/4, BP-25, 10-1.68).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about ROMAN
HARPER: Alabama, 5117 198
4.63. Three-year starter. An active wrap up tackler that plays on special teams.
Effective on the safety blitz to anticipate and time movement. Focused and
competitive. Productive and physical in the run game. Aware, reactive, and good
vision in zone coverage. Will struggle if isolated on a speed receiver running
deep. Good hands and ball skills. A confident and intelligent player with
ability to bounce back after being beaten or missing a tackle. Good man-to-man
coverage skills for a safety. Goes up and gets the ball at the high point.
Active and productive wrap tackler. Alley player in support. Will throw his body
around. Football smart with good awareness. Takes good angles to the ball. No
wasted steps. With his good anticipation, awareness, and instincts, he gets a
jump on the ball and makes plays. Will contribute on special teams’ coverage.
Third/fourth round. (A-32 3/ 4, H-9 1/4, SS-4.34, VJ-34).

Draft Rewind 2004 - Will Smith - New Orleans Saints
By

7:00 AM
What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about WILL SMITH: Ohio State, 6026 275 4.70. An all-around
type end with experience on the left and right sides. Compact. Has relatively
short arms and legs. Technically sound player. Very quick off the ball.
Explosive. Plays at a good pad level. Strong and quick with his hands into
blockers. Powerful into gaps. Holds his ground well and usually stays on his
feet. Does a good job of stringing out the wide play. Disciplined. Locates
quickly and hustles in pursuit. Gets slowed up a bit by low blocks. Inconsistent
with his shed — when he gets turned out, he can be slow to work through the
block towards the ball. Disruptive pass rusher — more powerful than speedy. Good
bullrusher for an end. Comes strong and hard to the inside, yet shows the
ability to pressure the edge and turn the corner. Has a good arm-under move.
Relentless. Keeps his feet active and his legs driving. Closes strong, though he
lacks the great extended speed of many pure pass rushers. Athletic — used
effectively from a standup position which required him to drop off and cover.
Lacks a little in terms of ideal size and speed, but he’s a first rate prospect
who does a lot of things well.

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about LANCE MOORE: Toledo, 5091 177 4.52. Three-year starter. All-time leading receiver at school. Sticky flypaper hands. Outstanding concentration on ball. Productive. Can make the low ball catch and lay out for ball. Quicker than fast. Runs good routes. Tough. Will go over the middle. No hold up on line. Can shake a defensive back at times. Catches the ball in a crowd. Struggles to separate from corners. Makes route adjustments on move. Has footwork and body balance. Good functional awareness. Finds the open area and creases in coverage. Shorter than ideal. Late round free agent type.

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JAHRI EVANS: Bloomsburg, 6044 316 5.25. Three-year starter. Raw and green in his mechanics and techniques. Tendency to play high, not a natural knee bender. Struggles with strength and speed. Improved during the week at the Las Vegas Classic. Has the tools, just needs work. Powerful run blocker against the Division II players he played against. Was leveraged in the Las Vegas Bowl practices. Will need to learn complex protection schemes. Gets stuck at times leaking through to the second level. Needs to improve his hand use. Fringe athlete. He rated in the lower third of the offensive line workouts at the Combine. Below average first step quickness and footwork. Developmental player. Fourth/ fifth round pick. (A-34 1/9, H-10, BP-20, 10-1.84).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about PATRICK ROBINSON: Florida, 5111 190 4.44. Twenty-five starts over the past three years. Big corner that is physical and can run. Plays the boundary corner and is alert enough to use the sideline as the 12th man in the running game. Intercepted six passes in 2007, including one each in five consecutive games. Has made big plays over his career, including blocking PATs that were returned for scores. Has the speed to run backs down from behind. Takes good pursuit angles on plays away from him. A good athlete with foot quickness and hip flexibility. Good change of direction and recoverability. He can stick his foot in the ground and drive off quickly. Sticky man cover ability. Flashes a quick burst and acceleration speed. Appears to have a strong upper body. Locks out his arms and separates from blockers. Willing tackler that will wrap up. Shows good awareness to recognize offensive set tendencies and react quickly to his keys. Plays with poise and confidence. Maintains good position on the receiver. Sudden support in the run game. Wards off low blocks, sheds, and makes plays. Should contribute on all special teams coverage units. Better in press cover-two rather than playing off man to man. Has 117 tackles, 21 pass breakups, and 7 interceptions in his career. BTR:left 4.56, right 4.71. OSR:7/29. First/second round. (A-30 1/2, H-8 1/2, VJ-39, SS-4.29).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about TRACY PORTER: Indiana, 5102 190 4.46. Four-year starter. Sixteen career interceptions. Not a physical player. More of a man to man cover corner. Fluid hips. Can stick his foot in the ground and drive quickly on the ball in front of him. Good ball skills. Has long speed. A burst to close on the ball in the air. Sudden change of direction. Mirrors receivers. Struggles in run support and misses as many plays as he makes. Inconsistent tackler. Has talent and athletic ability for the position. Will also contribute as a punt return specialist. May be a backup, not a feature returner. Has played only five years of football, including one year in high school. Put up 18 reps of 225 at the Combine. Was second all-time in Indiana history with 16 interceptions. Needs technique work to combine with his athletic ability. Has rare tools, but needs refinement. OSR:10/32. BTR:left 4.40, right 4.53. Second/third round. (A-32, H-9 3/8, SS-4.09, VJ-35.5).

7:00 AM
What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MARQUES COLSTON: Hofstra, 6045 224 4.50. Three-year starter. Competes for the ball in tight spots. A big target that can run. Good jumping ability to go up after the ball. Tall, physical receiver that is inconsistent to come off the ball quickly every time. A long strider. Did not look 4.50 in the forty in the Shrine practices. Picks up speed as he goes down the field. Not a nifty-footed receiver. Not sharp in and out of routes. Gets open with his size mismatch. Flashes some burst. Good hands. Long arms to go up and pluck the ball. Will go over the middle and make the tough catch. Can take a hit. More of a one-speed guy, but can run by you with his long strides. Good adjust to a bad ball. Runs through a tackle, but not a big run-after-catch receiver. Missed 2004 season after left shoulder surgery. Productive. Third/fourth round. (A-33 3/8, H-9 1/2, SS-4.44, VJ-37).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about SEDRICK ELLIS: Southern Cal, 6004 309 5.28. Three-year starter that plays with urgency. Long arms. Sudden to get penetration. Feels pressure and reacts on the move. Strong at the point of attack. Good interior instincts. Uses knee bend and leverage to hold the point. Good use of hands to control the blocker and shed. Quick to hustle down the line in pursuit. Awareness of blocking schemes. Collision tackler. Demonstrates quickness, agility, and balance. Will compete. Tough, physical, and intense. Flexibility to play nose tackle in the 3-4 or defensive tackle in the 4-3, even though he is shorter than ideal. Explosive first step quickness and hips. Outstanding Senior Bowl week. Was the best player at any position. Explosive defender that gets a jump on the ball. Great effort. Will drive and make hand and arm tackles. Explosive tackler. Thrusts his body into the ball carrier. Gets into the blocker quickly. Sudden hands. Has the total package - stab, punch, placement, extension. Strong at the point of attack. Tough when he plays on the edge of a blocker. Slanting and angling are specialties. Makes plays down the field. OSR: 12/16. First round. (A-33, H-9, BP-34, 10-1.82).

Can stick his foot in the ground and drive on the ball. Loose hips, smooth and fluid in transition. Can run a back down from behind. Quick to read and react. Thinks on his feet. Quick reactions to play off blocks and make a play. Can turn and run with speed vertical receivers. Keeps position on the receiver and has good leaping ability and timing to make a play on the ball. Willing to support the run. Plays off blocks without getting bounced around. Productive playmaker when tested. Big corner with long arms. Team captain. Good athletic ability. Versatile. Can also play safety. Ball clubs are looking for safeties with corner skills and he fits the bill. He is also comfortable in press coverage to reroute receivers with his long arms. 2008 stats: 57 tackles, 9 pass breakups, 3 interceptions, and 11 career interceptions. Consistent performer over his career. BTR:left 4.50, right 4.56. OSR:8/32. First round. (A-34 1/2, H-9 1/4, VJ-33, SS-4.08).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about CARL NICKS: Nebraska, 6047 341 5.21. One year starter. Junior college transfer. Started career at New Mexico State as a defensive tackle. Huge man with good feet. Has some physical skills to go along with his brute power. Long arms and big hands. Flashes a powerful punch. Has the power to put a defender on skates. Generally plays with a good base. Has some first step quickness. Can be effective on the second level if he takes good angles. Played left tackle, but is more likely a right tackle on the next level. Undisciplined player that has a questionable work ethic and mental toughness. Draft status will be affected by numerous off field issues. Boom or bust. OSR:5/42. Fourth/fifth round. By

7:30 AM
Romeus, Greg Pittsburgh 6050 264 4.85 Three-year starter who played in all games as a redshirt freshman in 2007. Big East co-Defensive Player of theYear. Productive over the past two years, collecting 94 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, and 15 1/2 sacks. Has long arms and huge hands. Possesses an enormous amount of physical ability. Tough and aggressive. Durable. Plays hurt. Innate ability to come off the edge. Gives effort in his pass rush and pursuit. Good change of direction. First step and lateral quickness. Upfield quickness and strength to push. Disrupts an offense if not accounted for in the game plan. He has one big Achilles’ heel that actually ties into two position skills. He needs to develop more pass rush moves and develop the use of his big hands. Romeus has a tendency to let the blockers into his chest which in turn slows down his ability to get off the block quickly. Currently he must escape on the first move or he gets locked up. He opens up his body because of inconsistent hand usage and consequently is vulnerable to blocks. Will hand fight and wrestle with the blocker. He has the tools – long arms and big hands – to slap or grab and swim, rip or uppercut, speed, power or spin. Will make himself a lot of money if he can develop his weapons. Did not play his senior year due to back and knee surgeries. For complete report see Ourlads Guide to the NFL Draft.

Patrick, Johnny Louisville 5104 191 4.59
Three-and-a-half year starter. Average speed and athletic ability to play the position. A zone cover corner with good ball skills and foot quickness. Instinctive in his play, but can get caught looking in the backfield. Has some hip tightness in his backpedal and turn in man coverage. Needs to keep his butt and pad level down when backpedaling. Has a tendency to rise up. Has short arms. His below average leaping ability (32-inch vertical jump) may be a carryover from his ACL injury at the Senior Bowl. Came to Louisville as a receiver and moved to corner in 2007. Comes up quickly on run support. Good toughness. Will contribute on special teams coverage. Has played gunner on the punt team in the past. For complete report see Ourlads Guide to the NFL Draft.

Wilson, Martez Illinois 6036 250 4.49
Junior entry. Started off the early part of the season slowly, coming off a neck injury that caused him to miss the 2009 season. Played inside in a 4-2-5 defensive scheme. He took bad angles, was cut on low blocks, and got his shoulders turned. He lacked the ability to play square. Inconsistent tackler with a hard hit but no wrap. Made several plays when he was not blocked. Downhill player with functional athletic ability, agility, size, and speed. Had an outstanding athletic workout at the Combine but question his fluidity and hip flexibility. Plays tall and with inconsistent knee bend. Lacks fluid explosiveness. Inconsistent to maintain leverage on blocks. Hesitates. Jumps around and gets behind the ball, but has good catch-up speed. Aggressive and competitive. Struggles to hold ground on plays directly at him. Question his natural ability to find the ball. Marginal instincts. For complete report see Ourlads Guide to the NFL Draft.

2011 Free Agent Offensive Linemen Rankings.....
By
proscoutdan
Posted at
6:29 AM

The most important factor used to compile the free agent rankings is the
player’s ability and performance on the field. Next is the age and time factor,
especially players over the age of thirty. We then look at durability and injury
issues with the older veterans. Lastly, we evaluate the intangible areas (i.e.:
attitude, work ethic, and off-field troubles) as those red flags often follow a
player to his new team. Restricted free agents rarely move. The players are
ranked in order of their value. Keep in mind that maintenance of this list is
ongoing. Minor errors or omissions are possible. For example, when a player
signs during the season, his new contract’s expiration date is sometimes unclear.
It is likely that a few players are even now negotiating new or extended contracts
with their team. The following signings are as of March 14, 2011.
Codes:
F – Tagged by current team as a Franchise Player
T – Tendered by current team
