Has quickness into and out of his breaks. Can gain quick separation from defensive backs. Better than average athlete that has good eye-hand coordination. Experience at reading coverages from multiple alignments. Did not work out at the Combine. Right hamstring injury. Has an injury history of hip, knee, elbow, and heel injuries. Seventh round. (A-32, H-9 1/4, VJ-34, SS-4.54). Originally drafted by Philadelphia.

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about KEENAN LEWIS: Oregon State, 6007 208 4.49. Four-year starter. Tall and rangy with good athletic ability. Good man to man cover corner with long arms. Quick feet. Can stick his foot in the ground and drive quickly on the ball in the air. Has the size and skills in press or off coverage. Good short area quickness. High cut corner that will struggle at times getting too high in his backpedal. Looks awkward as a tackler unless he bends his knees. Not a killer on run support. More of a drag down tackler. Was in on 35 tackles, had 9 passes broken up, and 4 interceptions in 2008. Good durability. BTR:left 4.53, right 4.52. OSR:9/32. Fourth/fifth round. (A-33 1/4, H-9 5/8, VJ-33 1/2, SS-4.42).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about WILL BEATTY: Connecticut, 6060 307 5.06. Two-year starter. Very good athletic ability. Long arms and big hands. Good first step quickness. Raw in technique. Good effort player. Has the feet to elevate his game as a pass protector and downfield run blocker. Struggled to block the edge in the Senior Bowl. Waist bender in the one on one pass rush drills. Went to the ground several times. Had a tough time blocking Larry English. Will soft set in pass protection and will get leveraged back if he doesn’t play with flat feet. Zone blocking tackle that can run his feet. Needs more strength and violence in his play. Good movement skills in both the run and passing games. Can adjust and block in space. Needs to improve his use of hands. Drops hands in pass pro at times. Good downfield effort in the running game. May disappoint as he is more athlete than football player. Question intensity in his overall play. OSR:3/47. Second round. (A-34 3/4, H-10, BP-27, 10-1.75).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about TJ LANG: Eastern Michigan, 6042 312 5.12. Three-year starter. Played left tackle but projects inside at guard. Played in the Texas vs. Nation game. Not a natural knee bender. Competitive and intense in his play. Plays square with balance and leverage. Power type that has some upper body tightness. Aggressive off on snap. Stays with his target and keeps good head position. Flashes some punch and explosiveness. Works to finish. Goes to the whistle. Gets his hands inside frame and can steer defender. Not a smooth athlete. Plays with a good base and is rarely on the ground. Good downfield effort. Can adjust on the run in pulls. Strong upper body but can be bull rushed if he loses his knee bend. Arms are shorter than ideal. Tough, smart player with some maul in him. Did not attend Combine. Sixth round. (A-32 3/4, H-9 5/8, BP-DNP, 10-1.75).

Draft Rewind 2009 - Mohamed Massaquoi - Cleveland Browns

8:19 AM
What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MOHAMED MASSAQUOI: Georgia, 6014 210 4.55. Three-year starter. Long arms. Quicker than fast. Good sized target with inconsistent hands. Big game against Georgia Tech put him back on the radar. No hold up on the line. More muscular and thicker than he looks in a uniform. Good body control with the strength to burst through a tackle. A long strider that is inconsistent to drop his weight and burst out of his cuts. He does have good footwork and body balance however. Can read coverages and adjust his routes. When he’s on, he catches everything in his hands. Will reach and extend for the ball. Part of his problem catching may be Matt Stafford’s fast ball. A good worker that will compete. A possession type receiver that has ascending skills and ability to play on Sunday. Has been durable over his career. OSR:25/38. Fourth/fifth round. (A-33 1/4, H-9 7/8, VJ-36.5, SS-4.15).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about TYRONNE GREEN: Auburn, 6016 309 5.35. Two-year starter. Long arms and big hands. Physical player with raw skills. Former defensive lineman. Powerful short area punch. In the Senior Bowl game he gave B.J. Raji all he could handle. He was on him like white on rice. Kept position on Raji in pass protection and walled him off in the run game. Needs additional work on his pulling technique and balance in space. Would like to see him finish better, but he just needs playing time to refine his game. Thick butt and legs. His feet get wider than his shoulders in pass pro, but he plays with bent knees. Looks like a good fit for a zone blocking team that requires the ability to quick position a defender with base leverage and to run his feet on contact. OSR:33/ 47. Sixth/seventh round. (A-33 3/4, H-10 1/4, BP-22, 10-1.75).

By

8:42 AM
What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about BRANDON PETTIGREW: Oklahoma State, 6053 263 4.80. Four-year starter that has caught over 100 passes in his career. Played five games with a high ankle sprain in 2008. Missed the Troy, Texas A&M, & Missouri games. Will reach and extend for ball. An athletic big target that can seal the edge as a blocker. Has some hip snap and flexibility. Plays with good base and body control as a blocker in the Cowboys’ scheme. Good initial block but could finish better. Keeps a good base in space where he can block corners and linebackers. Caught eight passes against Texas in 2007. Lines up in the slot or split end to take advantage of match ups at times. No holdup on release. Comes off clean. Good effort to leap out for the ball. Long strider that is a one speed player that struggles to separate from safeties. Hand catcher that will cradle the ball at times. Runs hard after catch. Can improve getting into and out of routes and work on pattern development. Flashes the ability to jab one direction and break off a route square at times. Can refine his faking ability. His role in college was to block and seal the edge and was underutilized as a receiver with all the offensive talent. Can get stood up and driven back if he doesn’t play with good knee bend as a blocker. Must keep his heels down. Quick arm over move. Catches the ball out away from his body. Senior Bowl notes: Well built physically. Long arms and big hands. Impressive week of practice. Clearly the top overall tight end prospect in the game. Strong at the point of attack. Keeps a good blocking base and balance. Stays on his feet. Can drive and sustain his block. Plays with good knee bend and footwork. Will compete. Dominated Brian Orakpo in Texas game. Bubba Franks clone but faster. Franks was drafted with the 14th pick of the 2000 draft. OSR:13/ 18. First round. (A-34 7/8, H-10 3/4, BP-22, VJ-33).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MAX UNGER: Oregon, 6046 309 5.26. Four-year starter.
Versatile offensive lineman that has experience at all five positions on the
offensive line. His best position may be center. Plays with a good base in pass
protection where he can redirect with body control and balance. Effective mirror
and slide. Nifty feet. Strong drive blocker. Plays the game on his feet. Rarely
on the ground. Good balance. Works to finish his blocks. A good leader that
makes all the line calls from the center position. Possesses the quickness to
make a cut off block on a defensive tackle or control a middle linebacker. Has
the strength to block back (choke block) and cut off a defensive tackle on a
trap up the middle and can block nose tackles with leverage. Senior Bowl report:
good use of hands. Scrappy. High in pulls. Generally kept his hands inside the
frame and on the breast plate to control defender. Solid punch and lockout in
pass protection. OSR:31/47. Second round. (A-32 1/2, H-9 1/4, BP-22, 10-1.78).

What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about ANTOINE
CALDWELL: Alabama, 6033 307 5.27. Four-year starter. Versatile enough to play both
guard and center. Durable and smart. Must work to bend his knees because he has
long legs. Needs more functional strength. Question inside awareness at times.
Struggled to adjust on inside blitz pickup. Demonstrates ability to recover. A
good athlete with a thick lower body. Stays on his feet and occupies defender if
he plays with good knee bend. If he gets high he can get knocked back and bulled
over. Effective to slip through to the second level and cuts off linebackers.
Good balance and foot movement in pass protection if he keeps his head up. Does
both the conventional and shotgun snaps. Lacks strength to drive block in the
run game. Position wall off blocker. OSR:26/47. Fourth/ fifth round. (A-34, H-10
1/2, BP-23, 10-1.78).

7:00 AM
What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about KENNY BRITT: Rutgers, 6027 218 4.50. Junior entry.
Three-year starter. Long arms. Productive and athletic receiver. Big East career
receiving leader with 3043 yards. Possession type long strider that builds up
speed as he gets down the field. Does a good job of working the seams in zone
coverage. Not a natural catcher. Question concentration on the ball. Appears to
lack confidence in his hands. Cradle and body catcher. Has several drops in his
career. Will wait on the ball instead of going up after it. Projects to a slot
receiver. Played split end in college. Lacks quickness in and out of his breaks.
Needs more strength in his upper body to get off jam coverage. Big target that
is inconsistent in his route running. Struggles to separate from top defensive
backs. Limited run after catch ability despite size and strength. Mediocre
blocking effort down the field. Has tools to play on Sunday, but needs to
elevate every phase of his game. OSR:13/38. Third round. (A-34, H-9, VJ-37,
SS-4.47).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MARK SANCHEZ: Southern Cal, 6021 227 4.93. Junior entry. Sixteen game starter. Right handed and team captain. Demonstrates the physical talent and ability to succeed on the next level. Rhythm type passer that keeps his eyes down the field. Improved throughout the year. Plays in a pro style offense under center and in the shotgun. Good pocket presence. Throws well on the run. Ball come out high. Strong and accurate arm. Throws the whole package - slants, crossers, skinny post, swings, check down, and screen passes. Good anticipation and timing in the 3 and 5 step drop pattern. Does a good job of attacking the seams in three deep coverage. The skinny post and seam routes are the only patterns you can observe him throwing the ball through a tight window. Generally his receivers are wide open. The Pac-10 plays more press coverage than other conferences, yet he keeps his poise. Can lay the ball over the linebackers. Accurate throwing to a spot. Can step up and lead his teammates. Best games were against the best opponents. Has a natural feel in the passing game. Good athlete that is a student of the game. Good deceiver. 2008 statistics: 3207 yards, 34 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 65.9 percent. Ball velocity 57 mph. OSR:4/21. First round. (A-33 1/2, H-10 1/2, SS-4.21, VJ-32 1/2).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JASPER BRINKLEY: South Carolina, 6015 252 4.67. Three-year starter. Transfer from Georgia Military Prep. Plays square to the line of scrimmage. Good lateral quickness and speed to make plays on the perimeter. Downhill player that can work upfield and blow up a play. Better than average instincts and nose for the ball. Fills the inside running lanes with strength. Wrap up tackler. Can run with a tight end in man coverage. Not smooth in transition. Better in zone coverage. Quick take off on blitz. Good timing. Disruptive. Throws his body at the ball carrier. Strong inside thumper. Perfect fit for an inside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme where he has experience. Physical and explosive player. Quick to read and react. Active. Strong and rugged build. Impact hitter. Does not shy away from contact. Strong in his arms and shoulders to control a center or a guard. Strong, flexible, and tough. By
proscoutdan

7:00 AM
What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about DONALD BROWN: Connecticut, 5102 210 4.46. Junior entry. Started 22 games in three years. Good athlete that was the nation’s leading rusher with 2083 yards. Plays in an ‘I’ spread and one back set formations. Fringe size for durability purposes. Runs high for a small back. Best play is the power ‘O’ guards pulling off tackle and wrap around and he hits the seam. Many times he is untouched to the second level. Will also run the outside zone with success. Patient runner that follows his blockers. Will bounce the ball outside at times. Combines a pick, slide, and glide running style with bending and weaving style when he gets down the field. Will use a stiff arm to ward off blockers. Good field vision. Good lower body strength to break arm tackles. His best asset may be his upfield burst when he sees daylight. Has broken several long runs in career, but question finish speed since he has been caught from behind. In the International Bowl, where he rushed for 261 yards, many times the Connecticut line just overpowered Buffalo and Brown ran untouched. Has quick feet and can juke a defender and make them miss. Good hands to catch the swing passes and check downs. A change of pace back, not a featured runner. Needs to improve his blocking. OSR:2/29. Second/third round. (A-31 1/2, H-9, BP-DNP, SS-4.10).

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about DARELL SCOTT: Clemson, 6032 312 4.95. Three-year starter. Good athlete that plays with good effort. Looks the part. Thick upper and lower, wide bodied 4-3 tackle. Runs well for a big man. Sudden first step quickness. Can diagnose the play after controlling his opponent. Finds the ball. Can feel pressure. Good hip flexibility to uncoil and explode on the blocker. Good body control. Effective use of hands, but can get better. Can disengage the blocker and find the ball quickly on inside or off tackle plays. Quick lateral shuffle. Gets to the ball. If he gets cut, he bounces up to get in on the play. Not on the ground. Good power and leg activity. Has some two gap ability. Has the speed to string out and pursue to the sidelines. Solid effort. Rotates in their package. His extra effort draws holds from opponent linemen, several of which are called penalties. Had 143 tackles, 18 1/2 tackles for loss, and 9 sacks his last three years. Plays a little high at times. Physical type player that doesn’t shy away from contact. Willing to force and contain. Can play off blocks and make the tackles. Will wrap up. Active in coverage. Good technician that knows his limitations. Shorter than ideal. Will compete for a nickel specialist job because of coverage ability. Quick feet and change of direction. Hips are a little tight in his turns. Made 110 tackles, 12 passes broken up, and 6 interceptions the past two years. BTR:left 4.69, right 4.69. OSR:18/32. Fourth/fifth round. Versatile back that can run and catch. Power runner that can turn the corner. Good balance. Effective on the inside zone running plays out of the one back set. Question ball security. Best running between the tackles. Lacks long finish speed. One speed downhill runner with limited burst. Ball control type back. Appeared to shut it down his senior year and was not nearly as productive as in previous years. Upright runner that lacks the power he showed previously. Lacked consistency and the ability to hold onto the ball. Lacked the confidence to be a playmaker at crunch time. Not dependable and reliable to make the plays when needed. Injury history is a concern. Question competitiveness. Long arms. Left the Senior Bowl with a hamstring injury after the first day. Did not workout at the Combine. Seventh round.
