What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about DEMECO RYANS: Alabama, 6012 235 4.65. Three-year starter. Complete read and react linebacker. Fringe inside size. Good instincts. Strikes with good knee bend. Closes on the ball in the air. Can be overaggressive at times and overrun the play. Doesn’t stay blocked. A team leader on and off the field. A student of the game. An explosive hitter that will run through the ball carrier. Good agility in traffic. Uses hands to shed blocks and has awareness to strip ball. Quick to read and react. Takes good angles. Sudden lateral quickness and can redirect. Good pass coverage and receiver awareness. Locks out and clogs up the running lanes. Will throw his body around to make a play. Sudden break on the ball. Draft Rewind 2006 - Eric Winston - Kansas City Chiefs

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about ERIC WINSTON: Miami, 6065 310 4.94. Started 28 games. Played left tackle for the Hurricanes. Angular and thin-limbed build that is more finesse than powerful. Comes off the ball with a flat back. Sustains contact with defender. Lacks strength in his anchor (thin-hipped). Plays too high and doesn’t bend his knees consistently. Has talent and tools. Not as explosive and powerful as you’d like for a tackle. Recruited as a tight end. Struggled in 2005 in pass protection. Recovered from an ACL in 2004. Wall off position blocker. Good initial quickness. Can recover and redirect. Takes good downfield angles. Slips through and cuts off backside pursuit. Has shorter arms and smaller hands than ideal. Struggles with edge speed and two-move defensive ends. Lacks surge on run blocks. Tried to maul but doesn’t move his feet. Needs more overall strength. Gets up on his toes in pass protection. Can improve his hand use to control defenders. Strength is a major issue. Bunkley, from Florida State, drove him five yards in the backfield. Third or fourth round ability that will get drafted high because of athleticism. Second or third round. (A-32 1/4, H-9 1/4, BP-DNP, 10-1.70). Originally drafted by Houston.

Quick to fill and constrict the hole. Can’t run on the watch, but ran Florida State’s Booker down from behind. Has competitive play speed. Was the team’s top tackler with all that first round talent. Averaged 13 tackles per game. Face up explosive tackler. Flashes a burst to the ball. Instinctive. Quick to read and react. Makes plays on the perimeter. Plays on the punt team. An effective special teams’ player. Fast twitch guy. Quick and reactive. Runs through gaps and pressures quarterback. Mobile, hostile, and agile as Coach Jake Gaither would say. Takes good pursuit angles. Will contribute and be productive on special teams. Reminds us of Ron McKinnon who was a free agent and has played in the league a long time. Seventh round. (A-30 3/4, H-9 1/2, BP-27, SS-4.19). Orginally drafted by Tennessee.

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about SANTONIO HOLMES: Ohio State, 5105 188 4.36. Two-year starter. Standout wide receiver that has run-after-catch and return skills. Shorter than ideal for a featured receiver. He makes up for lack of height with speed and athletic ability. Reminds us of Terry Glenn. Has speed. Good leaper, goes up after the ball. Catches the ball in his hands. Will use body on dig routes across middle to protect the ball. Will reach and extend for ball outside his frame. Does a good job of driving off defender and coming back to the ball. Generally runs good sharp routes. Competitive receiver. Will layout for catch. Can catch the ball over his head. Changes speeds to elude tackles. Has the speed to run away from defenders and stretch zone coverage. No hold up on the line of scrimmage. Has the awareness and vision to find the voids in zone coverage. Shows the speed to run all verticals and post routes, yet is quick enough to snap off slants and hitches. Will cross the middle and catch balls. Will catch a ball in a crowd. Explodes out of his breaks and creates space. Sees ball and can adjust to a ball in flight. Good body control. Good timing. Football smart with good awareness. Takes good angles to the ball. No wasted steps. With his good anticipation, awareness, and instincts, he gets a jump on the ball and makes plays. Draft Rewind 2006 - Jay Cutler - Chicago Bears

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JAY CUTLER: Vanderbilt, 6032 228 4.77. Four-year starter. Right handed. Three-time team captain. SEC offensive player of the year. Set numerous career records including total offense (9953 yards), TD passes (59), passing yardage (8697), pass completions (710), pass attempts (1242) and starts by a quarterback (45). Not a finished product. Mechanics are off at times. He never had a chance to set his feet and throw. Somewhat of a sling type delivery. He is a competitive leader who can take a hit and throw accurately under duress. Has the arm strength to make all the throws. He was timed at the Combine on the radar at 60 mph. Has a quick release. A playmaker that can adjust his throws under pressure. The lack of a star-studded surrounding cast may have helped him prepare for the NFL because of all the on-field adjustments that take place in a game. Played in both conventional and shotgun offense. Effective play action passer. Good touch and accuracy on fades and ball control routes. Was the best QB in practice at the Senior Bowl, but was erratic at times. Decision making was questionable at Vanderbilt because he was never able to get in a rhythm. Needs to improve deep ball touch and accuracy. Natural running ability to escape and make something happen. Can scramble and get up field with the ball. First round. (A-31 1/2, H-9 3/8, SS-4.31, VJ-DNP). (originally drafted by Denver)

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MILES AUSTIN: Monmouth (NJ), 6021 215 4.47. Three-year starter. Big athletic receiver that was a mismatch in his league. Big soft hands. Uses his size and speed to separate from defenders. Raw in all skills. Inconsistent get-off, line release, and pass routes. Lacked effort in blocking. Caught several short and under patterns and got yards after catch. Big target. Will catch the ball over the middle. Creates deep separation this level and runs away from corners. What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about CHRIS GOCONG: Cal Poly, 6021 263 4.70. Three-year starter. Quick first step up the field. Gives effort to the whistle. Burst to close on the quarterback. Uses a quick spin move at times. Productive high motor, fast twitch 3-4 rush prospect. Had an incredible 40 sacks in the past two years. He added 52 tackles for loss. One of the last players that put up that type of numbers at a lower level of competition was John Randle coming out of Texas A&I. He led 1AA in sacks with 2.2 per game. Goes to the whistle. Takes good pursuit angles. Accelerates off a block. Quick to shed. A wrap tackler. Team moved him around so it was tough to find him. Explosive on quick slants down inside. Disruptive player. Throws his body around to make a tackle. Hustles downfield to make a play. Quick to break downfield on a pass. Plays low and with leverage. Has a closing burst to the quarterback. Did not look out of place in the Shrine practices or game. Will contribute on special teams. Smart and motivated. Fourth round. (A-31 7/8, H-9 1/2, BP-28, 10-1.62). (Originally drafted by Philadelphia)

Draft Rewind 2006 - Jeremy Trueblood - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JEREMY TRUEBLOOD: Boston College, 6080 316 5.25. Three-year starter. Tall and angular physical tackle with long limbs. He has big hands and a good punch to control the defender. More of a tough and nasty player than an athletic one. A tall tackle that plays tall and struggles as a run blocker. Position/wall off type blocker. Mirrors defender but appears awkward and hop slides in protection. Struggles with power and quick defensive ends. Raw ability that needs to be refined. Works to finish his blocks. In the Senior Bowl he didn’t appear to play with power and lacked an explosive punch. Struggled to anchor and was leveraged by most defensive ends. Didn’t secure the edge well against speed. Did a lot of holding, both in the drills and in the game. Was in the bottom 25 percent of the athletic workouts at the Combine. Needs to consciously work to bend his knees. Will always struggle to play low. He’s about effort and toughness. Third or fourth round. (A-33 1/2, H-10 1/8, BP-20, 10-1.86).

Draft Rewind 2006 - Mathias Kiwanuka - New York Giants

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MATHIAS KIWANUKA: Boston College, 6056 268 4.70. Three-year starter. Build like Jason Taylor. Long arms and a smooth athlete. Backside chase player. Has the talent and tools to rush the passer, but needs to get stronger at the point. Sudden off the edge. Needs to get bigger and stronger. Usually draws a double team. Somewhat of a long first step off the snap at times. Above average lateral quickness. Can turn the corner and get down the line and make plays. Struggles to make plays at him because he is so tall. Wrap tackler. Out of control as a pass rusher at times and can be faked out. Could improve his hand strength to control and stack blockers. Must work to play low and bend his knees because he is so high cut. Can be man-handled if he doesn’t play with leverage. Appears to have a problem putting on and keeping good weight. First/second round. (A-34 3/4, H-9 7/8, BP-17, 10-1.63).

Catches the ball out away from his body. Will layout and adjust to a poorly thrown ball. Fights for extra yards after catch. Caught 47 passes for 576 yards, 12.3 ypc, and 2 TDs in 2005. When blocking a defensive lineman he needs to improve hip snap and flexibility. Average upper body strength to block big men. Not explosive, but shows good feet. Works to get his body in position to wall off linebackers on the second level. Could improve his sustain. Doesn’t always get his man turned. Can adjust on the move. More of a straight away power runner after the catch. Can break tackles at times. Has decent speed. Already graduated. Smart. Will pick up blocking schemes. Second/third round talent. (A-32 5/8, H-9 1/2, BP-19, VJ-33.5). (Fasano was originally drafted by Dallas.)

Draft Rewind 2006 - Haloti Ngata - Baltimore Ravens

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about HALOTI NGATA: Oregon, 6041 338 5.13. Junior eligible. Three-year starter. Looks the part physically. Big thick body. Against Southern Cal he made one tackle late in the game. Matua dominated him the whole game. His career is checkered with inconsistency. Slow twitch player. First move is up. Turns his back on a spin move and loses ball. No inside pressure when he’s single blocked. Rarely makes a play. Gets tied up and neutralized. Gets his shoulders turned. Doesn’t push the pocket with strength. Plays high. Question instincts. He must see the ball to go to it. Inconsistent to feel pressure. Loses feet in traffic. Will drop into zone blitz coverage. Leans on blockers. Question functional strength. Gets pinned by a single block. Stands on the line of scrimmage. Jogs in pursuit. Gets driven off ball in goal line defense. Inconsistent to fight pressure. Stops feet on contact. Can get driven back by a single base block because he plays high, not low. Takes too many plays off. Batted down six kicks. Needs to improve his use of hands. Gets hung up on the blocker. Not an impressive pass rusher (3 sacks). Needs technique work. Possibly a two-gap run stuffer as a nose or a 4-3 tackle. Question concentration. Has had several offside penalties. Durability and endurance are two big questions. First round. (A-33 1/8, H-9 7/8, BP-37, 10-1.74).

Tendency to play high, not a natural knee bender. Struggles with strength and speed. Improved during the week at the Las Vegas Classic. Has the tools, just needs work. Powerful run blocker against the Division II players he played against. Was leveraged in the Las Vegas Bowl practices. Will need to learn complex protection schemes. Gets stuck at times leaking through to the second level. Needs to improve his hand use. Fringe athlete. He rated in the lower third of the offensive line workouts at the Combine. Below average first step quickness and footwork. Developmental player. Fourth/ fifth round pick. (A-34 1/9, H-10, BP-20, 10-1.84).

Keeps leverage on the ball going wide. Doesn’t appear fluid. Has some upper and lower body stiffness. Good wrap tackler. Good timing on blitzes. Effective on underneath pass coverage. Explosive hitter. Sudden movement out of transition to break on the ball. Fast twitch. Has a burst and catch up speed. Reacts immediately to keys versus play action and misdirection. Consistently performs at a high level. Intense and focused player that holds the ground at him or can scrape and fill hole. Quick reactions to cut back. Has the size, bulk, and toughness to splatter the ball carrier. Top five talent. (A-31 1/8, H-9 3/4, BP-24, SS-3.97).
