Stanley Havili, Philadelphia Eagles, 240th Pick, 7th Round, 2011 NFL Draft

Havili, Stanley Southern Cal 6002 227 4.70
Four-year starter who is versatile and productive. The true fullback position on most NFL teams is going by the wayside with leather helmets and button under crotch jerseys. Ball clubs are using tight ends, defensive linemen, or linebackers as lead blockers. Every year there is at least one true short-necked fullback that grew into playing the position. This year it is Havili. He is the total package of good blocking skills, hands to catch all the pass routes, and productivity as a runner. The former running back brings good running skills to the table along with the above mentioned attributes. He has good vision, feet, strength, and power between the tackles and in short yardage situations. Finishes his runs with effort and authority. A good athlete who flashes a burst around the corner. Not easy to tackle in the open field on screen passes. Can kick out or seal the edge force defender. A willing lead blocker who is explosive. Physical in his overall play. Has an injury history. Has been nicked up all four years at USC. For complete report see Ourlads Guide to the NFL Draft.

Shaun Chapas, Dallas Cowboys, 220th Pick, 7th Round, 2011 NFL Draft

Chapas, Shaun Georgia 6021 247 4.91
Three-year starter. A West Coast offense type fullback who is a blocker first. A willing and productive blocker who can seal the edge. Good vision, feet, and functional strength to block in pass protection. An I-formation fullback who knows how to check and release to get into pass routes. Can catch all the flat and check down type passes. Ties up the linebacker on inside blitzes. Plays Hback where he can get a running start at his target. Can adjust on the run. Strong enough to run a defensive end up the field. Made a good wrap up tackle on an interception. Out of control at times. For complete report see Ourlads Guide to the NFL Draft.

Taylor, Ryan North Carolina 6033 250 4.76
Ryan Taylor is an H-back, tight end, fullback, and special teams utility man with outstanding hands. He set a school record for tight end receptions with 36 in 2010. His pro day measurables were 1.69/10, 21/BP, 34/VJ, 9-10/BJ, 4.47/SS, and 7.09/3 cone. He had a big game catching the ball in the Music City Bowl win over Tennessee. Special teams will be his ticket. Ourlads Scouting Services rated Taylor as a developmental player with draftable qualities.

Anthony Sherman, Arizona Cardinals, 136th Pick, 5th Round, 2011 NFL Draft

Sherman, Anthony Connecticut 5102 242 4.75
Three-year starter who is an I-formation fullback and sometime receiver. A willing blocker. Not really an explosive back, but has some pop in his kickout blocks. Good vision, feet, and strength to lead on isolation blocks. Can slam it up inside between the tackles with grit and toughness. Has courage. Can kick out an outside linebacker and create an off tackle running lane. Positions and walls off pass rushers. Effective in pass protection. Will step up and take on blitz. Good power base with bent knees. For complete report see Ourlads Guide to the NFL Draft.

Owen Marecic, Cleveland Browns, 124th Pick, 4th Round, 2011 NFL Draft

Marecic, Owen Stanford 6004 248 4.91
Four-year starter on offense. Started as an inside linebacker in 2010 on defense. Role in offense was as a blocker. Against Notre Dame he scored a touchdown on an interception and he scored as a fullback on a dive play. A poor man’s Peyton Hillis. Physical and smart. Played over 100 snaps in several games. Fullback is his best position to make a team in the NFL. Plays square and faces up linebacker in the hole on isolation play. Third guard type lead blocker. Can read and adjust on the run. Good effort player. Long torso fullback with good balance. A smart, tough player who you want on your team. Will contribute on special teams. Plays with a good power base to block on blitz pickup. Can catch the ball when thrown his way. Not a threat as a ball carrier. A one speed back. Can be explosive as a blocker if he bends and gets under target. Dependable in his play. For complete report see Ourlads Guide to the NFL Draft.
