What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about O'BRIEN SCHOFIELD: Wisconsin, 6022 221 4.70. Two-year starter. Suffered a torn ACL in the Senior Bowl practices. Weighed in at Senior Bowl before surgery at 242 pounds. Weighed 221 at the Combine. Played with his hand in the dirt in college. Played defensive end in college but projects to an outside linebacker. Improved every day at the Shrine Bowl practices. Had a strong game on special teams coverage. An active sideline to sideline player. Was voted the Shrine Game MVP. Was invited to the Senior Bowl after the Shrine performance. A productive edge rusher that had a great hit and spin move. Good instincts and field awareness. Got in the throwing lane or slapped the ball out of quarterback’s hand if he couldn’t get the sack. Sudden first step. Worked hard to get to the quarterback. Always around the ball. Disruptive player. Good redirect on his rush. Quick to shed blocker. Relentless in his play. OK on his speed rush. Widened out and brought it. Works his feet to the quarterback. Will contribute on all special teams coverage. Must play up or rush from a 3-4 scheme. Draft status will be affected by his injury. In 2009 he had 62 tackles, 27 for loss, and 13 sacks. Did not work out at the Combine due to left ACL injury. Fourth/fifth round. (A-32, H-9 1/2, BP-DNP, SS-DNP).
