What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about JUSTIN DURANT: Hampton, 6007 230 4.45. Three and a half year starter that has outstanding athletic ability and rare speed for the position. Instinctive to read and react quickly. Deadly on plays away. Uses his rare speed to run the ball carrier down from behind. Has a closing burst on the ball. More of a drag down type tackler than a thumper. Has the speed and athletic ability to turn and run with tight ends and backs. Can also shadow slot receivers. Sideline to sideline range. Hand strength is a weakness. Undersized for position. Will need to get stronger to play the run at him. Needs to improve his technique as an inside linebacker. Good competitor. May project to weak side linebacker because of build. Has the toughness and aggressiveness to control a tight end. Should contribute on special teams. Can get walled off inside at times. Doesn’t take him long to get to top speed. A good athlete that is raw with rare speed. Third/fourth round. (A-33 1/2, H-10 1/2, BP-25, SS-4.10).
