What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MARCUS THOMAS: Florida, 6026 314 4.96. Three-year starter that was suspended for violating substance abuse policy. He was later dismissed from the team permanently. Explosive and powerful upfield push. Gets penetration and knocks off power running game. Always around the ball. Plays with a high motor. Can stack a double team and hold the point of attack. Strong enough to clog up the middle in the running game and pushes the pocket in the passing game. Keeps feet alive until the whistle blows. Takes good angles. An active face up tackle. Thick butt and legs. Tough on the edge of a blocker. Plays low. Good initial quickness. Makes plays. Plays under his pads and with leverage. Intense and relentless. Sudden on twist stunts. Has long arms. Off field red flags. Gained 5-7 pounds after he was dismissed from team. Played in the Texas versus Nation All-Star game on February 2, 2007. Weighed in at 303. The top defensive interior player heading into the fall. Athletic and skilled. Had an outstanding junior year and came back to increase his draft stock. Draft status will be determined by each team. Before the dismissal he was described as a team player and a great young man. A tough kid that is a self starter. High risk and high reward player. Many questions need to be answered. Second round. (A-33 3/4, H-9 1/4, BP-27, 10-DNP).
