Hernandez, Aaron Florida 6023 245 4.60
Junior entry. Two-year starter with outstanding hands. Can snatch
and pluck the ball. Will reach out away from body to extend and
make the fingertip catch. Good adjust to the flight of the ball.
Holds the ball on contact. Athletic after catch. Good open field
instincts, acceleration, and stop and go quickness. Can turn a
short reception into a long gain. Plays fast. Runs sharp routes.
Cuts with the ability to separate. Has some fake and cut ability.
Fluid in his movement. Has good contact balance. Good
concentration in traffic. Catches “Utah” passes and has a burst
up the field. Will catch the ball inside where traffic is heavy.
Not an inline blocker. Question willingness and toughness.
However, he flashes ability to block and seal on the edge and
downfield at times. His best blocking efforts are on the perimeter.
A “Dallas Clark type” tight end. Made 68 catches, averaging
12.5 yards per catch, including 5 touchdowns. Won the Mackey
award in 2009. Did not work out at the Combine. Second/third
round. (A-32 1/4, H-9 3/4, BP-30, VJ-33).
