What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about ERIC DECKER: Minnesota, 6031 217 4.55. Started
33 games over career. Big physical receiver that can take a hit. A good enough
athlete to have a future at pro football or pro baseball. Injured in the Ohio
State game and was lost for the rest of the year. Holds the Gophers’ career
reception record. Will go up at the high point for the ball or lay out. Holds
the ball after collision. Strong hands to snatch the ball. Excellent eyehand
coordination to adjust to an off target pass. A consistent hand catcher that
will double move defensive backs. Quick in and out of his breaks. Will stalk and
mirror defensive backs down the field. Physical receiver with good focus. Strong
run after catch ability. Draft status may be affected by Lisfranc foot surgery.
In 2009 had 50 catches for 758 yards, 15.2 yards per catch, and 5 touchdowns.
Did not work out at the Combine due to left foot surgery. Third round talent.
