Jerrel Jernigan, NY Giants, 83rd Pick, 3rd Round, 2011 NFL Draft

Jernigan, Jerrel Troy 5087 185 4.46
Three-year starter. An undersized but explosive wide receiver with “make you miss skills”. A slippery darter who is a slot receiver and kick return specialist. Suction cup hands. Will reach and extend for the ball away from his body. Separates from defender with a burst and creates space. Plays as fast as timed on synthetic grass. Good speed tempo. Good body control to make the difficult catch. Good vision, focus, and leaping ability. Quick feet, no holdup. Plays in the slot but lines up in the backfield and “x” receiver. Athletic after catch. Quickness, instincts, and production with the ball in his hands. Suddenness in his play. Comes out of his cuts sharply with balance. Good field awareness to find open spots in coverage. Gets open with route agility. Speed to get deep. A short and deep receiver. Lacks size to go over the middle consistently. Fringe blocker. For complete report see Ourlads Guide to the NFL Draft.
