Three-year starter who has the awareness to recognize and analyze offensive set tendencies and react quickly to his keys. Sudden to read and react. By all rules of measurement, Black is too small and slow to play on the next level. He rated 21 out of 21 safeties athletically at the Combine. However, when he gets on the field he is a playmaking dynamo. He has a fierce sense of competition. Plays with confidence and poise. Mentally tough and is dedicated to football. Has a high reaction IQ. Plays faster than timed speed. Instincts knock off two 100ths off his 40- time. Productive over his career with 12 interceptions and the Gators’ leading tackler. Makes plays by stripping the ball, playing through blockers on run support to make a tackle, and timing up his run through blitz to be disruptive or make a sack. Plays with foot and burst quickness. Drives suddenly on the ball. An active and aggressive tackler. Will be an asset on all special teams coverage units. For complete report see Ourlads Guide to the NFL Draft.
