James Brewer, NY Giants, 117th Pick, 4th Round, 2011 NFL Draft

Brewer, James Indiana 6062 323 5.27
Two-year starter. A big man with long arms and big hands. A right tackle only who struggles with wide speed rushers. When he doesn’t play with knee bend he can get put on skates and rolled back to the quarterback. Average athletic ability and initial quickness out of his stance. More push than pop in his punch. Lacks functional strength to anchor a bull rush. A forced, not natural, knee bender. Uses his size to mirror and screen off pass rushers. Flashes some set quickness, quick feet, and slide shuffle. Inconsistent in his overall play. Flashes NFL skills but does not play to the skills. Question awareness, gets beat inside, takes bad angles to the second level and will hand fight with defensive ends. Has a chance to play on Sunday because of measurables if he gets pro physical technique work and development. For complete report see Ourlads Guide to the NFL Draft.
