What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MICHAEL OHER: Mississippi, 6045 309 5.35. Four-year starter. Plays with good knee bend and balance in his base. Thick butt and legs. Inconsistent to stay back on his heels and play with flat feet. Needs to finish his blocks better. Long arms and big hands. Good feet to adjust on the perimeter. Will drop his head in pass protection at times. Locks out and slides his feet. Good lateral range. Works his feet to shadow rusher. Experience at both guard and tackle. Plays left tackle. Has the agility and balance to handle good defensive ends. Feet are quick enough to pick up a pass rush and fold block. Functional strength at the point of attack. He possesses the athletic ability to be successful at offensive tackle. Flashes some sudden impact pop and range. Quick to gain and maintain wall off position. Plays with a good base in both the pass and run game. Can slide and adjust his feet as a pass protector. Note** Michael Lewis’ book ‘The Blind Side’ features Oher’s troubled youth and the hype around the recruiting process. OSR:29/47. First/second round. (A-33 1/2, H-10 3/8, BP-21, 10-1.78).
