What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about DARREN MCFADDEN: Arkansas, 6012 211 4.37. Junior entry. Three-year starter that is a north-south slasher. Good in space. Rare speed for a big back. Cut up and strong upper body. Slender and lean lower. Has the speed and burst to turn the corner. Takes a direct snap in the “Wild Hog” formation and runs between the tackles or hands off on sweeps and misdirection. Has thrown seven touchdown passes in his career, including 3 in 2007. Presses the hole with good body lean. Tries to bounce the ball outside when the running lanes are stuffed. Takes advantage of his long arms and uses a stiff arm effectively on tacklers. Productive over his career. Finished career as the third leading rusher in SEC history. Talented inside and outside runner. Creates big plays with rare speed. Upright runner. Running style may account for lack of ball security with 23 fumbles in career. Fumbled three times against LSU. Carries the ball exclusively in his left arm. Had a vertical jump of 33 and a broad jump of 10-8. OSR:4/33. First round. (A-34 1/4, H-9 1/2, SS-4.10, BP-13).
