What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about SHONN GREENE: Iowa, 5104 227 4.66. Junior entry. One-year starter. Greene concluded his career with the best season by an Iowa running back, setting records for yards (1850), touchdowns (20), and tied for the season record in points (120). Doak Walker Award winner. Rushed for over 100 yards in all 13 games. Academically ineligible in 2007. Runs with his eyes. Gets yards after first contact. Can give and take a hit. Finishes his runs with strength, vision, balance, and power. Determined runner. Hard for one defender to tackle him. Stays square to the line of scrimmage. Downhill one cut zone runner. Good body lean and running instincts. Pushes the pile. Good leg drive. Good patience in zone block. Sifts through and finds the open area. Presses the hole. Naturally strong to wear defenses down. Workhorse type back that brings it every down. A North- South battering ram that gets yards after first contact. Uses his power and momentum going forward as a goal line runner. Not shy about looking for contact. Runs with a low center of gravity and a low pad level. Thick lower body. Improved every phase of his game through the year after the one year layoff. Runs out of the ‘I’ formation, spread, and one back sets. Not an outside threat or elusive. Hands are below average, catching the ball out of the backfield at this time. Spent a year at Milford Academy prep school and always struggles with academics. OSR:18/29. Second round. (A-31 3/4, H-8 1/2, BP-19, SS-4.40).
