What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about DEON BUTLER: Penn State, 5103 182 4.35. Four-year starter. Rare speed gives him a chance. Good athletic ability. Elusive darter that can stop and start on a dime. Catches the ball in his hands. Needs to get stronger to get off press coverage. Gets rerouted and banged around. Tough and physical for his size. Will compete. Needs work on patterns but bends his knees well coming in and out of his breaks. Stays low. Balance after contact. Can gain speed after break and force separation with the defensive backs. Has the speed to run deep. Didn’t play as fast as 4.35. May have trouble carrying his pads. Has open field instincts. Concentrates on the ball in a crowd. Caught 47 passes for 810 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2008. OSR:17/38. Fourth/fifth round. (A-31, H-9 1/4, VJ-34.5, SS-4.49).
