What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about RAY RICE: Rutgers, 5080 199 4.46. Junior entry. Three-year starter. All-time leading rusher at Rutgers. Short, stocky compact runner. Good inside vision. Plays in a spread offense, but has experience in the I-formation. Keeps legs driving on contact. Good body lean with his chin over his toes. Low target to tackle. Leaks through holes. Slides to the hole. Good balance. Finishes runs. A north/south runner. Patient runner that cuts off blocks. Plays the best in an I-formation with a lead blocker. Runs downhill with one cut. Runs the isolation with cuts off his lead blocker. More power than elusive to make defenders miss. Runs with strength late in the game. Runs with his eyes and powerful legs. Will bounce the ball outside against lesser opponents that lack speed. Does a good job of setting up blocks. Can hop skip in the hole. Lacks game breaking speed. Fast enough and quick enough to play on Sunday. Not hard to tackle if you can get to his legs. Not an effective blocker in pass protection, lacks strength. Gets driven back. Durability will be a factor. Has carried the ball over 800 times in career over three years. OSR:7/33. Third/fourth round. (A-30 1/4, H-9 1/4, SS-4.24, BP-23).
