What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about BRIAN ORAKPO: Texas, 6030 263 4.66. Two-year starter. Long arms and good athletic ability. Displays good initial quickness and excellent agility as he adjusted well in space and in the pass rush. Smooth change of direction with sideline to sideline range. Flattens out well against the outside run. Has a tendency to get ridden out of the play. Inconsistent to bend and squeeze to the quarterback in the pass rush. Seems content to run up the field quickly and gets ridden out. Excels when he has a clear path to the quarterback. Can chase on ball away. Struggles when he does not beat the blocker off the snap. Needs to improve his hand use to defeat the block. A natural knee bender that can play low but has a tendency to stand up. Most of his production came when he was unblocked or against a tight end. He made only one play in the Fiesta Bowl. Has all the tools to star on Sunday, but needs technique work. Productive senior year with 42 tackles, including 19 tackles for loss and 11 1/2 sacks. He also forced 4 fumbles. Has an injury history. Edge speed:left 1.78, right 1.88. OSR:4/ 30. First round. (A-33 1/2, H-9 1/2, BP-31, 10-1.59).
