What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MATT SHAUGHNESSY: Wisconsin, 6050 266 4.86. Four-year starter that projects to an outside edge 3-4 pass rusher. Long arms and big hands. An oversized linebacker that has good speed and long arms. Can handle and leverage a blocker on his nose. Good instincts and intelligence. Productive high motor player that gives it up from snap to whistle. Tough and aggressive. Good foot and body quickness. Sudden to change direction. Good hand strength to lock out and release. Has the speed and athletic ability to run a play down from behind. Can play on all special coverage teams. Needs more upper and lower body strength. Has an injury history. Plays strong. Uses his hands to separate from blockers. Can’t be blocked with just a tight end. Must be chipped. Gets hands up and bats balls down in the throwing lane. Productivity dropped off in 2008 with 40 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks. He had 18 tackles for loss in 2007. Recovered from a broken right leg suffered in the off season. May have hit a wall and what you see is what you get. Has talent but he will need to elevate his game to make a team. Edge speed:left 2.29, right 2.30. OSR:25/30. Seventh round/priority free agent. (A-35 5/8, H-10 3/4, BP-24, 10-1.69).
