Draft Rewind 2006 - Marcedes Lewis - Jacksonville Jaguars

What Ourlads NFL Scouting Services said about MARCEDES LEWIS: UCLA, 6063 261 4.85. Three-year starter. Senior year he caught 58 balls for 741 yards, averaging 12.8 ypc, scoring 10 touchdowns. A big target with long arms that can run effectively after catch. Runs hard after plucking the ball. Good hands to pluck ball but will double catch at times. High cut, long-legged athlete that must work to bend as an inline blocker. Long strider that has average quickness off the line. Has some upper and lower body stiffness. Better in zone coverage than man-to-man. Was impressive to get down the seam or across the formation in the Senior Bowl. Long arms and big hands. Change of pace runner after catch. Needs to stay square with the ability to mirror in pass protection. Can improve his finish. Not a dominant blocker, but walls off. Needs to improve his patterns and ability to separate from the defender. Second round pick. (A-34 3/8, H-10, BP-23, VJ-37).
